MEDIA STATEMENT
AN OPEN LETTER TO TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
TIME TO CAMPAIGN FOR NATION

Dear Trinidad and Tobago,
August 19th 2010; We have held two elections in two months which involved heavy campaigning from both sides of the political divide. Our citizens were invited to exercise their franchise twice in close proximity. You were called upon to "foot-soldier the ground", to "bring out the votes" and to "marshal the troops to victory". History would now record that you "foot-soldiered" and "marshalled" like never before. The people have now spoken; twice. They have spoken in no uncertain manner and have given a clear mandate to the People's Partnership to chart the course for a brighter and better tomorrow.

WARNER RECEIVES THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE AT PIARCO!

Rowley loses battle with the People

The Piarco International Airport was transformed into a sea of humanity last night as thousands of people crowded the venue simply to get a glimpse of Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner. Many rushed forward to shake his hand.

Warner had just returned from attending the opening ceremony and games of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

It's difficult to recall the last time that a Government Minister was treated to such a greeting after spending some time abroad.
The kind of love that was expressed was second to none.

The outpouring of love seems to be a reflection of the deep admiration that the people have towards Warner who is considered a performer. It also seems that this admiration has grown since the attempt by Keith Rowley to derail the Works Minister. Warner's respect and love has increased by Rowley's antics. The scenes last night at Piarco was clearly a victory for Warner and a signal that the people wanted him to stay on as a Cabinet Minister and FIFA official.

Warner has since responded to Rowley by saying he would abide by the legal opinion of the Attorney General pursuant to other opinions from three respected legal minds from the UK, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago.

WARNER BREAKS BARRIERS!
Jack Warner's  18,767 votes in the May 24th General Election is perhaps the most votes ever secured by a candidate in any election in Trinidad and Tobago.  It was clearly the most votes cast for any candidate in the recently concluded poll.

In 2007, Warner secured 11,147  votes. The additional 7,000 votes was surely a reflection of the work that he put in his Constituency of Chaguanas West as well as his national appeal as UNC Chairman.

In two separate polls conducted in 2008 and 2009, Warner was considered the most effective and industrious political representative in the nation. He was also considered to be one of the most efficient parliamentarians in the land. In Chaguanas West, he has led from the front answering to the needs of the people and fulfilling wishes.

In two years he has contributed to the development of the Constituency; in physical infrastructure, sports as well as religious and cultural expression. From Felicity to Caroni, he has touched the hearts of many with his benevolence, generosity and common touch. A run-away victory for him was therefore assured simply because of his track record.

Largely credited as the man who created the pathway to victory with his Movement For Change in 2008, Warner has quickly created a space as one of the most dynamic politicians in the Caribbean.

Given his contribution to international football, Jack Warner has also become an historic third world icon who continues to inspire the nation to pursue ambitions to finality.
